Absolutely divine. This is my first home ice-cream machine. I made my first batch on Saturday night, expecting the consistency of soft-serve ice-cream. I was shocked to find that the ice-cream's texture was just like the Super-Premium store bought ice-cream! (Of course, it was a little softer close to the center column that the blades attach to) But for the most part, the ice-cream was creamy and absolutely the texture that I never thought I could achieve with a homemade ice-cream machine. I did ALOT of research before buying this machine, and I'm pleased to know that all that research paid off. I highly recommend this machine.

The ONLY thing that could be said in a "negative" way regarding this item, is that I wish it made larger quantities of ice cream at one time. However, being able to turn right around and make a second or third batch without having to need more ice and rock salt is fantastic. I've seen other reviews on this product that say the noise of the machine is really loud as well....Ehhhh...it's loud, but not so much so that it has you talking like you're in a night club. And honestly, unless you just want to use an old fashioned hand crank ice cream maker.....this Whynter unit is no louder than any other electric unit. The pricing is a bit steep for one of these...but considering that it is basically a fully refrigerated unit (meaning you do not need to pre-cool the bowl, or keep adding ice while the ice cream is churning)...the price is well worth it. Appearance wise the unit is very stylish. It's rugged and looks and feels like it is built to last.
I'd recommend this unit to anyone. Sure it's pricey, but if you never want to have to buy another ice cream maker again....you will be very happy purchasing this one.
